Unpopular opinion time.
The problem isn’t that she’s clumsy. The problem isn’t that she has a lazy eye, or that she has doesn’t follow directions well, or that she speaks slowly and simply. These things are fine.
The problem is that, in this episode? That’s all she is. Her entire existence is the joke.
She’s not the single mom with a disability who takes fucking awesome care of her daughter. She’s not the dedicated mailmare with bad balance and a lazy eye.
Fandom, you’ve done amazing things with Ms. Hooves. You transformed her from an easter egg, a background pony without a name, to a full-fledged character with depth and personality. Yeah, there’s the occasional asshole sniggering in the background, “lolol she’s derpy and stupid haha”. But on the whole? You’ve been great.
